MacroFriend is a calorie and macro tracker that works as a WhatsApp conversation. You send a meal photo, write what you ate or record a voice note; it replies with an estimate and updates your running total for the day. There is no separate tracking app to install or food diary to remember to open.

## What it does after you send a meal

MacroFriend identifies the foods it can see or understand, estimates the portion sizes, and replies with calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat. The same message tells you roughly how many calories and how much protein remain for the day, so you do not have to move between a meal screen, a diary and a dashboard.

If the estimate is wrong, you answer in ordinary language. You might say that the fish was hake rather than cod, that the portion was 200 grams, or that the coffee contained milk. The corrected entry replaces the first one, and familiar corrections can be remembered for the next time you log that food.

## What you can send

- A photo of a plated meal, packaged food or drink.
- A text message such as “two eggs on toast with avocado.”
- A voice note when typing would be inconvenient.
- A barcode or the weight of a food when you have more exact information.
- A correction after the first estimate, written the same way you would correct another person.

## How the target becomes personal

Your first calorie target comes from the information you provide during setup. That is a sensible starting point, but it is still a formula. After roughly two weeks of consistent food and weight logging, MacroFriend can compare what you ate with what your weight actually did and adjust the target to fit your observed energy use.

That does not remove normal day-to-day noise. Water, sodium, digestion and weigh-in timing can all move the scale. The useful signal comes from the trend across repeated observations, not from treating one weigh-in as a verdict.

## Plans, privacy and limits

The personal plan starts with a 7-day trial, then costs $9.99 a month or $79 a year. The family plan includes 4 seats for $16.99 a month or $139 a year. The coach plan includes 10 clients for $29 a month, with additional clients at $3 each per month.

Meal photos are processed to make an estimate and are not stored. MacroFriend keeps the resulting nutrition numbers and the information needed to provide the service.

MacroFriend provides estimates for general nutrition tracking. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical or dietary advice. A photograph also cannot reveal every ingredient or its exact weight, so every photo result should be treated as a useful estimate that you can correct, not a laboratory measurement.
